BRIGADIER GENERAL UYAZE JACOB MAKBERE was born at Igbogene in Bayelsa State. He attended University of Port Harcourt, Institute of Archaeology and Museum Studies Jos and University of Ilorin where he bagged a Bachelor of Arts Education Degree in History, Post Graduate Diploma in Museology and Master of Arts Degree in Peace and Strategic Studies respectively.
Brigadier General Uyaze Jacob Makbere was commissioned as a Lieutenant into the Nigerian Army Education Corps on 25 September 1993 and rose to the rank of Brigadier General in 2018. He attended Young Officers Course Education, Young Officers Course Infantry and other relevant courses commensurate with his rank.
He was an Instructor at the Nigerian Army School of Education now Nigerian Army Institute of Science Education and Technology where he was Instructor, Chief Instructor Corps Courses and Chief Instructor Languages at different times. He was later posted to Nigerian Military School as Instructor/Quarter Master. He equally held the appointment of Administrative Officer in Command Day Secondary School Ibadan and Staff Officer II at 2 Division Education.
Other appointments held include; Commandant at Command Day Secondary School Jos and Command Secondary School Ohafia, Staff Officer 1 and Deputy Chief of Staff Administration Headquarters Nigerian Army Education Corps, Deputy Director Directorate of Command Schools Services, Acting Director 6 Division Education, Deputy Director Tukur Yusuf Buratai Counter Terrorism and Counter Insurgency Museum and Director Nigerian Army Museum among others.
He is a Member of Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (MTRCN). He is honoured with Forces Service Star (FSS), Meritorious Service Star (MSS) and Distinguished Service Star (DSS). He is married and blessed with children. His hobbies include swimming, reading and playing football..
